Frame, Domain & Relevance Horizon

Experimentalworking theory

Define what is relevant relative to the current question instead of one permanent taxonomy.

TL;DR

A Domain is the locally useful semantic neighborhood around an inquiry. A Frame declares the observer, question, time, scale and other reference conditions. The Relevance Horizon is where expanding that neighborhood stops being useful.

ELI5

If you ask why an elephant moved, nearby things like weather, food and the herd matter a lot. Quarks technically matter to everything, but they are too far away from this question to help. Change the question and the useful neighborhood changes.

Synthesis

Primitive's research model treats relevance as frame-relative. There is no single perfect global hierarchy for every inquiry. A node can become the local center of a new frame; the system can move outward or inward across resolution until it should recenter rather than keep dragging unrelated context into the same domain.

Technical detail

Frame

A frame can include observer, inquiry, time, scale, scope, context, provenance, lens and other declared conditions. Position or relevance is interpreted relative to that frame.

Local reference

Zero is the frame-relative reference, not an intrinsic property of the object. The same node can occupy different positions in different frames without contradiction.

Relevance Horizon

The horizon is the practical boundary beyond which distinctions remain connected in the wider universe but are no longer justified as part of the active explanatory domain.

Research status

Gaussian or bell-shaped relevance is explicitly a hypothesis rather than a law. Real relevance fields may be asymmetric, heavy-tailed, multimodal or discontinuous.
